Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
Much awaited for me since the month of April, is the 2nd season of the Japanese Anime series: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. At the end of the first season, the protagonists Lelouch Lamperouge and Suzaku Kururugi were locked in a cliffhanger. At the moment, the first 8 episodes are already out, but every episode is just as exciting as the first season. The scriptwriters spent a lot of time in working out how the transition from the first season towards the 2nd season works. In fact, history did not repeat itself and the series has now opened up to a new development. For the main synopsis, the 2nd season started off with Lelouch appearing as a normal student again with a brother named Rolo Lamperouge instead of his sister, Nunally, which we know from the first season. Of course, through a battle in the Babel Towers, Lelouch regained his memories with the help of C.C. (the witch who bestowed him the power of geass) and his subordinates , Kallen and the Black Knights. Still, a lot of issues are unresolved. For example, the issues about the mystery of the Geass and Marianne's (Lelouch's mother) death are not resolved. Of course, Lelouch is still the same anti-hero who you love and hate but you have to admire his tactical brilliance and scheming side to turn the tide of battles. On the other hand, Suzaku remains to be a hated character just as well (for his dogmatic approach to change the system within). In the second season, Suzaku is now a Knight of Rounds (the order of knights directly under the King) and he appears to be a darker character, scarred by the death of Euphemia in the first season. If you are gunning for a good series to watch, Code Geass is definitely one of the best series to catch. Also check out the theme song here:
