I am currently in transition for my career. I spent part of my time working as a partner for Thymos Capital LLP, where we seed and incubate start-up companies in the digital interactive space in Singapore. The other parts of my time is spent on consulting and academia, where I give guest lectures and moderate panels in the topics of entrepreneurship, strategic consulting on deployment of web 2.0 for companies.
Formerly I was a research scientist in Genome Institute of Singapore and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. As an academic who has accumulated a wide range of research interests (physics, economics, entrepreneurship and biology), I have written research publications and enjoyed writing and spreading new ideas about public policy, social media, entrepreneurship, innovation and technology. My first degree began from NUS and ended with my PhD in Cambridge University. I am also blogging at SG Entrepreneurs (http://www.sgentrepreneurs.com) and Singapore Angle (http://www.singaporeangle.com).
I prefer to call myself a pragmatic idealist, because I believe that if you believe in an idea, you should invoke your passion and energy to pursue it and at least make small changes with the environment such that someday it will hit the tipping point and turn it into a big change.
